Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Apologies for being out of touch. The past few weeks have been a nightmare.

Back on board now and ready to tell you more of our adventures. There will also be the long awaited post on the restaurants in Southport. It is worth the wait - trust me.

On a lighter note..... you know you have a cheeky podiatrist when he does some work on your toe, puts a very neat dressing on it........ then draws on a smiley face....lol

He thought he was very clever, but I get the last laugh as I warned him I would post the picture and tell everyone the drawing was his handywork! At least it was someone else graffiti-ing me instead of Wayne.... that is his usual trick, as most of you are aware.

  2. They did!!! I am about to have one of the mini kitkats as my dessert. Totally justified as chocolate is a known cure for everything that ails you.lol

The wasabi has already been broached and I am in bliss again that I can add it to everything that I eat..... I know, I am strange... but I love wasabi!!!!

Huge thanks again and again for our parcel. I have the pretty purse hanging beside the bed so I can admire it. As a friend here said "that bag is so Debbie".
    gros bisous

  3. Oh dear, just 3 days ago I woke up with my whole foot and calf swathed in bandages, but no happy faces, just some indelible orange disinfectant. Broken ankle surgery! Tripped in a hole in back yard while admiring my tulips! No kidding! The very tulips I was bragging about--pride goeth before etc. One joyous note, Rainey has told me to expect a package. I have already used one of her super recipes--no work, great results. I remember your poisoning injury, Debbie--I asked stupidly)if you could have alcohol. Luckily alcohol in OK in my case.
And no,I did not know that your husband draws on you, what fun, do you ever retaliate? I suppose that could escalate to ridiculous lengths!

  5. Rosemary, you poor thing!!!! Hope it heals well and quickly. If I was closer I would bring you over something yummy to eat. If you send me your postal address via my personal email I will pop something in the mail to cheer you up.

Yes, maybe alcohol will numb the pain and make you forget about everything....lol

Mickey, I am making little mini freeform tarts with fig and violette, a cream cheese topping and will finish with some of the salted butter caramel. The kitchen smells wonderful! Am restraining myself as they are for a friends housewarming party this afternoon. I think if I try one I will scoff the lot and there will be none left......

  6. Oh no, Debbie--an actual package from Paris would be overly strong medicine! Such a generous offer though, and sweet of you. Just keep blogging 'bout delectable delights here.
